Uri is a second generation citizen of Yric’s Crossing. His father moved in accidentally when his cart broke an axle, stranding him in the Inn for what looked like it would be a few days whilst he harvested the materials he needed to make repairs. He wasn’t expecting two things - the first that his obvious skill with his hands and tools would be so much in need; the second that the girl behind the bar would grow to be so fond of him, and he of her.
He was on the road for the sake of travelling rather than with a destination in mind, so it made as much sense to stop here as anywhere. At first he lived in the Inn, working as general maintenance and caretaking, but it was not long before the traffic of people in and out of the crossing with slightly broken carts or other belongings seemed to increase, and he had enough work on his hands to build himself a small workshop and home.
Not long after it was finished there was a wedding, and a few months later Uri was born.
He grew up learning his father’s trade, and became at least as skilled in it, inheriting the business when his father died. One thing haunts him though - his father would never talk about where he came from, or why he was on the road. Uri feels some part of himself will always be incomplete unless he can find the answers. All he has as a clue is an amulet that was amongst his father’s possessions, of exquisite craftsmanship.
Uri is desperate to find out more about his heritage. He would love to travel himself, but feels tied to home whilst his aging mother is still alive. He will pay others gladly for information or stories that might fill in some of the gaps in his history.
He is a skilled and competent wheelwright, cartwright, and general carpenter/builder.
